About Me

Spiritual director, guide, teacher and student, martial artist, writer, explorer of the Dao De Jing and other wisdom teachings, embracer of life’s mystery – I am all of these things and none of these things. We are all more than the sum of our parts and beyond definition. Yet we still want to know and to be known.

So, with that in mind, let’s get to know each other.

I have been fortunate to experience many ways of being in this lifetime, from back-to-the-land hippie to law professor; an expatriate living in Thailand, Cote d’Ivoire, and France; mother and grandmother; practitioner of martial arts; facilitator of small groups on developing habits to grow a joyful spirit, A Course in Miracles, and the Dao De Jing

I grew up in the South, traveled and lived all over the world as an adult, and settled in the Pacific Northwest. Along the way my family has grown to include children and grandchildren with diverse ethnicities, languages, abilities, and cultures. Family gatherings are chaotic, unpredictable, and full of laughter and love.

These days, I enjoy sitting by the creek at my forest cabin in the mountains; facilitating a twice monthly contemplation group; helping folks explore their own spiritual paths; writing my blog and working on book projects;  practicing taiji, sword, and push hands; and taking walks with my hiker doodle Rosie.
