Greetings! It’s been a while since I posted. Someone asked me the other day if I had stopped blogging. Not yet. And no, I haven’t gone fishing. The recent absence from blogging is due to my focus on some new books.
One is a memoir of the life-changing year I experienced three years ago. Blog readers, however, might be interested in two other books. When a reader mentioned that she wanted to go back through the blog archives, I did a little research on how best to do that and discovered that there is now software that can convert a blog into a book. Wow.
A computer-savvy friend is helping me convert this blog, No Way Café, into a book. And for those of you who have been around since back in the day, I’m also converting my first blog, 10 Steps to Finding Your Happy Place (and Staying There), into a book. We are still figuring out the process, so stay tuned.
Anyway, that’s why I haven’t been posting anything lately. Thanks to the readers who checked in with me. All is well. Hope all is well with you too.
Oh I am so happy! I loved your first blog and was so sad when it ended. Splendid idea!
That’s so nice, Judy. Thank you!
All is well with us, but we missed your thoughts and insight. So glad you are back and can’t wait to order the new book to add to our Galen Pearl collection.
Thank you so much, Bob. Hi to Betty too!
Hey Galen! As you know I’ve sorta done that on a limited way myself with taking just some of my blog posts and putting them into book form. But there’s an app that will take the WHOLE blog…hmmm…. what is the name of the app? PM me if you’d rather than post it here. Thanks! ~Kathy
Hey Kathy, I’m answering here in case other folks have the same question. My understanding is that an app will convert the whole blog into a document that can then be edited and published. Much easier than the copy and paste I thought I would have to do.
I’m told that there is more than one program that can do this, but I have no idea what they are. I just turned the project over to my computer savvy friend. Once it’s returned to me as a document, I can edit and go from there.
I don’t understand any of it! And it’s possible that I have incorrect information, but that’s my understanding at this point and my friend thinks this will work. If other readers know what the programs are, please respond to Kathy.
YAY!!!
Thanks Deirdre!
Sounds a great idea! I was thinking something along these lines too ironically. Another book to add to the list. I really love some of my earlier posts, so it crossed my mind. Motivation is a struggle just now though, life changes bring these issues, but at least I’m aware of it. I’m probably working on other aspects of life, Galen.
