I accept my destiny to walk this earth awake and at peace, in mastery and not in fear. ~The Way of Mastery
How do we walk through our lives? How do we walk through a single day? What guides our steps? Too many of us are driven by fear, by shoulds, by musts, by must nots, by the rules of others in whom we are told to place our trust. Our to do lists are too long, time is too short, our peace is hostage to the past and future, our mastery denied by, well, by denial itself. Our destiny is thwarted by our own unwillingness to wake up and claim our birthright.
And what is our birthright? Our birthright is to be free, whole, expanding in infinite oneness of creation, to be who we are, completely, without apology, with courage, resting in gratitude, blazing in glory, fully alive.
Is it possible to live like this, to live in mastery and not in fear? Yes, absolutely. It’s not dependent on circumstances. It depends on choice. Choice in this moment and in every moment to be fully present, without judgment, without narrative, without strategy, without struggle.
It doesn’t matter how many moments of bondage have passed. They are only shadows in the memory of thought. This is the only moment of actual existence. In this moment is eternity. In this moment we can choose to live our destiny.
There is no greater sense of freedom than to be able to abide where you are as one who is free. ~The Way of Mastery
Hi Galen! I’m not familiar with “The Way of Mastery” but I certainly agree with what this says. Is this a direct quote or is this your interpretation? ~Kathy
First, let me apologize for responding to this so late. I didn’t realize that my email was not sending me notices of comments! What the heck?! So I’m now catching up.
That is a direct quote. The Way of Mastery is a channeled teaching along the lines of A Course in Miracles.
Galen, I needed to read this post. I’m home recuperating from my third cancer surgery. Chemo is in the very near future. Last time I had it, it was really difficult and seemed to flip my fear switch on full blast. Your words have caused me to pause and ask myself whom have I allowed to rule over my life.
I pray that I may be fully awake and set free from fear as I approach my future. I’ve heard it said that there are 365 verses in the Bible that tell us not to fear. I haven’t counted them, but I’ll bet it’s true. You helped me to realize that fear is the monster I need to confront with honesty.
As always, I appreciate your willingness to share.
Pamela, please accept my apology for this tardy response. As I explained to Kathy, my email glitched and was not notifying me of comments.
I’ve heard that same statistic about the Bible. Seems like an important message! I find that fear is best dealt with with love. I’m so sorry to hear of your continuing struggle with cancer. I’m going to email you and see how you’re doing. Please walk sweetly with yourself.
I feel that of all of your posts that I have read, this is the most meaningful for me. Thank you.
That means so much to me, Collin. Thank you. And let me repeat my apology that due to an email glitch failing to notify me of comments, I am tardy in responding.
