Reason says, the world is limited in six directions
There is no way out
Love says, there is a way
And I have traveled it many times
~Rumi
When we are unsure about something, or making a decision, or figuring something out, or choosing a course of action, we often turn to reason. We make lists of pros and cons. We ask advice from others. We want an answer that is logical, that makes sense. And when we can’t see that answer clearly, we feel frustrated and look harder. We are afraid of making a mistake.
Sometimes it feels like we are trapped in an escape room, racing to solve the clues and find the key before time runs out.
We are indeed in an escape room, an escape room of life, stuck in our heads, unable to see beyond the four walls, floor, and ceiling of our thoughts. We can’t think our way out because it is our thoughts that are creating the illusion of being trapped.
Meanwhile, love whispers beneath the noise in our minds. “Come this way. Follow me. You are loved. You are free.” When we listen to that voice, the ceiling dissolves, the walls crumble, the floor becomes the earth. We walk in meadows trailing flowers, and nothing is hidden from us.
Love knows the way regardless of weather or terrain, and will guide us unerringly on our path. Seek love’s counsel in all things, and know that you will be led in truth.
To know how to choose a path with heart is to learn how to follow intuitive feeling. Logic can tell you superficially where a path might lead to, but it cannot judge whether your heart will be in it. ~Jean Shinoda Bolen
